About the association
The Sweden-New Zealand Association invites you to join in our packed activity calendar. There really is something for everyone be they 3 or 103. And be they Swedes or New Zealanders or any other nationality. We won't try to make you speak Swedish - we promise, so please JOIN our merry bunch today.
Our association is all about keeping Swedish traditions alive and to promote Swedish culture in New Zealand, so our activities range from the traditional St Lucia celebrations in the dead of winter, to the very competitive meatball competition.
The Swedish school, Svenskkul, actively encourages the younger in our community to engage and interact in the tongue of their parents or ancestors while learning about the culture and history of Sweden and its people.
The Swedish Discussion Group, provides a forum for members with Swedish as their second language to get together and practice. Sometimes we even provide a forum where you can learn to speak Swedish, but this is all up to the person(s) running the discussion group at the time.
We are a very active association and you'd be hard pushed not to find something that appeals to you and your family!
Hope to see you soon!
